Tsukkomi is the counterpart to boke, the one who cuts in with something like "that is not it" and snaps the joke shut. The phrase tsukkomi wo ireru means to deliver that retort. Far outside comedy it means pointing out an obvious flaw, and Kansai people are stereotyped as being fast at it.
