What is Russian:
Russian belongs to the East Slavic language group, which is part of the Indo-European language family. It is the official language of the Russian Federation which is the largest geographical territory in world. Russian is on the list of international languages, which means that it is widely spoken in different parts of the globe. It therefore occupies the eighth place in
the list. We can count almost 280 million people fluent in this language, spread in 17 nations apart from Russia. Russian is also one of the six official languages spoken at the UN and at UNESCO.
