Το ανέκδοτο
Το ανέκδοτο is the narrative joke, the one with a setup and a punchline, as opposed to αστείο which can be any witty remark. English borrowed the same word as anecdote, but the meanings drifted apart: an English anecdote is a true short story, while a Greek ανέκδοτο is meant to be funny.
